ANNAPOLIS, Md. — Marylands governor remain enthusiastic about high-speed rail. As other state governments are telling the federal government they arent interested in committing to high-speed rail projects at a time when their budgets are tight, in Maryland its just the opposite.

Governor Martin OMalley has sent a letter to US Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood, expressing a desire to move ahead on investing in high-speed rail. The governors spokesman Shaun Adamec says if other states dont want federal rail funding, Maryland does.
